About Ellie Wyeth

A little about me, ellie wyeth…

I studied illustration and humorous art in NYC, developing a unique style. I earned a BFA at Goddard College and painted in Umbria, Italy for five years. I have taught watercolor painting and have exhibited my laminated placemats and floor cloths at Fine Art Craft festivals, including the ACC in Baltimore and Paradise City Arts in Massachusetts. My inspiration comes from color, texture, outsider art, illustrators, The New Yorker cartoonists & the great masters.

Each floor cloth is made with durable canvas primed with gesso, the edges of the cloth are hemmed and the decorative background and borders of the design are painted using several coats of latex.  The principal and original design is painted in acrylic and then receives at least six coats of water-based polyurethane.  Each floor cloth is backed with a non-skid rubber pad.
