SCENES FROM HOME - ELLIE WYETH

Sept 6-Oct 4: Arts Council of Princeton
OPENING: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 3-5PM

From the Arts Council of Princeton:

Scenes From Home presents portraits of people and their dogs, along with vignettes from everyday life. Ellie Wyeth’s paintings depict the ubiquitous “comfy chair”—often with a pet curled up on the seat—or orchids blooming in a kitchen window. Through color, composition, and paint, she elevates the ordinary to the extraordinary.

Artist bio:
Ellie’s career began many years ago as free-lance illustrator designing notecards, invitations and illustrations for private customers and small businesses in NYC and Princeton, NJ.  Clients included Rutgers University Press, The Eagleton Institute, John McPhee’s short story, Irons in the Fire, first featured in The New Yorker,  and many other publications and organizations.

After working for five years at an artist residency in Umbria, Italy where she painted landscapes and still life in oil and acrylic, Ellie began to wonder about applying her artistic skills to more functional objects.

Over the years she adapted her painterly style and vivid colors to the floor and the table, creating distinctive custom-made floorcloths and placemats.  She traveled extensively from Baltimore to Boston exhibiting her work at Fine Art craft fairs, including the American Craft Council, Paradise City Arts Festival, as well as many others.

Using flora and fauna, she creates a storybook world with whimsy and humor painting in saturated colors adding to the joyful nature of each piece.

Ellie has a growing collection of paintings, custom portraits of friends and family and private commissions.

Sept 7: A Night for Gaza: Live Concert and Art Auction

“A Night for Gaza” – Please Join Us

On Sunday, September 7th at 7pm, I’ll be participating in “A Night for Gaza: Live Concert and Art Auction” at Hopewell Fare. It’s an evening of art, live music, and community, all to raise funds for The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, which provides critical medical care and support for children affected by the conflict in Gaza. I’ve decided to donate a painting for this event that means a great deal to me.

There will be beautiful work available from over 25 artists, and music by the amazing Carsie Blanton and Dave Butler & Friends. Every dollar raised from ticket donations and art sales will go directly to this urgent cause.

If you’d like to attend, you can make a pay-what-you-can donation ($25–$100) here: https://ig.me/1OGBHjXQ3L2JlbA.
When you donate, please leave a comment letting the organizers know how many tickets you’re reserving—or “0” if you’re just making a donation and won’t be attending. Adults only, please ❤️

I hope you’ll come out and join us. Art has the power to bring people together—and in this case, to bring hope to those who need it most.

Sept 27-28: Hopewell Tour des Arts

I’m excited to once again open my studio as part of the 18th Annual Hopewell Tour Des Arts, happening Saturday and Sunday, September 27th & 28th, 2025. This free, self-guided tour is one of my favorite local events—it’s a wonderful weekend where artists throughout Hopewell open their doors to share their work, their process, and their spaces with the community.

I’ll be showing a select collection of my paintings for the Tour. Whether you’ve visited before or this will be your first time, I’d love for you to stop by, say hello, and take a peek at what I’ve been working on.

The Tour Des Arts is a beautiful way to experience the vibrant art scene in our area. You’ll have the chance to meet artists working in all kinds of media—painting, photography, sculpture, ceramics, fiber art, and more. Many studios (like mine!) will also have artwork available for purchase.

So mark your calendars for September 27 & 28, grab a tour map, and spend the weekend exploring Hopewell’s creative community. I look forward to seeing you!
